Marieke Pieterman, owner of Holistic Heart Acupuncture, is proud to have been recently appointed to the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Society of Acupuncture and Asian Medicine (NCSAAM). She will assume the role of Secretary starting September 4, 2018.
Pieterman brings four years of experience serving as Class Secretary during her post-graduate acupuncture degree program at Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine.
"I take my role very seriously and want my fellow acupuncture colleagues and clients to know that NCSAAM is here to serve you, your practice, and most importantly, you – our clients," Pieterman says.
The NCSAAM is a lobbying and legislative organization that works to protect our profession as acupuncturists. It also helps move our occupation forward on a number of different fronts, including insurance reimbursement for acupuncture and protecting the general public from inadequately trained practitioners performing acupuncture under a different name. It is estimated that North Carolina has over 450 licensed acupuncturists and having an organization such as NCSAAM can make all the difference.
In addition, NCSAAM holds an annual Walk for Acupuncture event to bring about public awareness about this amazing medicine. This year’s walk will be held on Saturday, October 20th in downtown Raleigh. Please come join us!
"I look forward to representing your voice as acupuncturists and as clients while working with the NCSAAM Board -- moving issues along that affect our acupuncture occupation. I am very excited!" says Pieterman.
